Sam Harris is a neuroscientist, philosopher, and best-selling author. He is a co-founder of Project Reason – a non-profit organization that promotes science and secularism – as well as the host of the podcast, “Waking Up with Sam Harris“.
He exploded onto the atheist scene with his 2004 book, “The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason”. As a result to the criticism he received, he responded with another book, “Letter to a Christian Nation”. This further solidified himself as not just one of the atheist community’s most outspoken and visible intellectuals, but also placed him among the most influential contributors to the “New Atheism” movement know as “The Four Horsemen of the Non-Apocalypse” – along with Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, and the late, great Christopher Hitchens.
Since then, he has authored several other books, as well as participated in numerous debates with popular religious apologists and scholars, such as William Lane Craig, Dinesh D’Souza, Reza Azlan, and David Wolpe.
